![]() The default color profile has more green where blue/red were at same level. I'll try to run a verification details later, but it's much better afterward. I calibrated mine with a ColorMunki and Displa圜al. Hope that some of you who are looking to upgrade your screen, waiting to receive your Inspiron, or considering buying one will find this little write-up useful! The difference is night and day, and I'm now pretty happy with the laptop, although I can't recommend it unless you're willing to replace the screen in a brand new laptop at additional cost. The only deviation from the video I did was to disconnect the battery first for some extra safety.įinally, here's an comparison between the old TN panel and the new IPS panel. For some reason the manual wants you to completely disassemble the laptop before replacing the panel, but that's not necessary at all. This video shows exactly how to do it on the previous Inspiron, and you can follow the exact same steps with no alterations on this one. If you can find a genuine one, the Samsung LTN156HL01-102 would be an amazing option. If you want something brighter, the LG LP156WF6-SPB1 is another easy to find panel that will be compatible and is known to look very good. It doesn't get super bright, but it's plenty bright for me. The screen I ordered is the AU Optronics B156HAN01.2 IPS panel. Basically any panel with a 30-pin eDP connector and the same dimensions should be compatible - you can find this information on panelook. It got enough traction that I figured I should provide an update with some info on how to replace that awful screen, should you have already ordered one or are still interested, given that there isn't any information from anyone else who's replaced it before.įirst things first, the panel in the new Inspiron is the AUO B156HTN03.8. ![]() Hi all, I posted this thread about a week ago regarding the terrible display for the new Dell Inspiron gaming notebooks. ![]()
